It’s really common in our group for people to have multiple characters they roleplay. Some people are equally active on all, while others just have occasional ones they go onto as a break from their main RP character. It happens all the time that I end up getting plot ideas for one of the secondary characters over the main, and have to wait around forever for their second muse to return.
